Plant Manager-Silao, Mexico

Summary

The Plant Manager coordinates and directs all plant production and support operations to ensure timely delivery of quality products at optimum costs to meet corporate as well as customer goals and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure coordination and cooperation among all departments to meet goals and objectives in accordance with company policies.
  • Analyze profit and loss statement variances and plan and implement corrective action when required.
  • Provide inputs for establishment as well as direction to insure compliance for the annual budget.
  • Approve all purchases of equipment, spare parts, materials, and machines.
  • Provide work direction and development of all Department Managers.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the plant’s activities to obtain World Class Manufacturing status.                              
  • Recommend, develop, administer, and support company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all corporate, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Provide leadership for problem solving in the resolution of product, quality, operational, mechanical, and personnel problems including the analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain an effective communication program to keep plant personnel informed and enhance the plant’s white union status. 
  • Review and approve all personnel reviews, salary changes, and new hires as well as all personnel and organizational moves.
  • Coordinate production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Industrial Organization Manager.
  •  Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Review production costs and product quality, and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
  • Review operations of competing organizations and plan and direct sales program to develop new markets.
  • Direct preparation of accounting records.
  • Recommend budgets to management.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                 

Directly supervises department managers in the Plant Facility who supervise Team Members in their respective departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this business unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited four-year college or university; and ten plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Plant Management experience within the automotive industry preferred.
  • Previous new facility launch experience required.
  • Extensive project management experience.

Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to improve efficiency of operations, reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.  This position is located at our plant in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Responsibilities:

  • Study functional statements, organization charts and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of team members and work units to identify areas of duplication.
  • Establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Analyze work force utilization, facility layout and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of team members and equipment.

Summary

Corporate Controller-Tinley Park, IL

Summary

The Corporate Controller has direct responsibility for cash management, accounting functions, reporting to shareholders and executives, statutory reporting, internal/external audits, and consolidations for UGN’s manufacturing facilities and corporate center.   The Corporate Controller reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Fixed Asset Reporting and Control, Cost Accounting, Internal and External Financial Reporting (GAAP), Budgeting, Forecasting, Financial controls, IMMEX (Mexico Operations), Tax and Audit.
  • Responsible for completion of governmental compliance reporting, both monthly and annually.
  • Responsible for holding financial integrate of all aspects of UGN financial systems and reporting.
  • Ensure revenue is appropriately recognized and documented.
  • Oversee the development of SOX’s type internal controls and processes.
  • Perform corporate consolidation; and develop and document accounting procedures and controls for financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Familiarly with manufacturing cost accounting and standard cost developing.
  • Provide management with financial reports and make recommendations to CFO and executive staff on needed financial actions.

  • Ensure healthy cash flow through driving net working capital and monitoring net liquidity. Lead both expedited collection of AR and managed AP processing.  Optimize cash flow through effective management of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Lead tax compliance and planning. Ensure timely filing of all statutory tax filings etc via third-party providers. Strive to ensure that Effective Tax Rate is at most optimal levels.
  • Assist team in developing efficiencies across departments to expedite financial reporting timelines and continue to added value added tools to be shared with the rest of the organization to drive sales and profit enhancement.
  • Ensure monthly review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and lead preparation of monthly consolidation, and review and approval of general ledger journal entries.
  • Identify and execute improvements to existing processes and procedures. Challenge the organization to success.
  • Overall financial reporting lead (monthly, quarterly and annually) to shareholders, internally and statutory reporting.
  • Responsible for Planning and Strategic Plan development.  Act as a leader in annual financial plan and the budgeting process at both the corporate and plant level; also ensure that this plan is consistent with internal Executive Directives.
  • Thoughtful analysis of all cost elements expected on a monthly basis. This analysis is required to drive cost and profit improvement actions. Focus needs to always be on how finance can support business growth and profitability. Integration within the organization is critical to position success.
  • Develop and execute tools and analytics to drive effective business decisions, using information and data from other groups including Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering etc.  Review costs versus plans and trends to understand key business drivers and help develop plans for improvement. Develop and track key performance indicators.
  • Solid knowledge of Fixed Asset controls and reporting is a key responsibility.
  • Act as a “Business Manager” to peers, as well as the key support to the CFO. Interest in the broader business and solid financial and business acumen is critical.
  • Must be a proven leader with superior communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Manage external audits for US GAAP and have a basic understanding of IFRS.
  • Oversee accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper internal and financial controls are being followed at all locations.
  • Continuously develop team in both management and technical skills.
  • Responsible for all company Payroll processing and reporting.
  • Demonstrate continued focus on profit improvement and margin enhancement.
  • Assist the CFO on ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor (B.A.) or Master (M.A.) degree in Accounting required, MBA encouraged or preferred; minimum ten years of relevant accounting/financial management experience required including General Accounting, Financial Leadership, Audit, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Operational Analysis in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both spoken and written word, including voicemail, e-mail, business letters, internal memos and presentations to senior management.
  • Ability to interpret findings and propose solutions that address the basic business issue, while balancing the holistic needs of the business. Out of the box thinking is critical.
  • Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and Office Outlook.  Strong working knowledge of automotive ERP systems is a major plus. UGN is moving to Oracle EBS. Knowledge of ERP implementation and Oracle would be a strong plus.

The Production Shift Coordinator supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in manufacturing environment; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Confer with management to establish production and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Recruit, interview, and select team members to fill vacant positions in the plant facility.

  • Coordinate industrial hygiene and ergonomic studies and implement solutions to identified problem areas.
  • Manage the process of keeping current all plant written safety information, plans, programs, practices, and procedures.

Infrastructure Engineer-Tinley Park, IL

UGN, a world class manufacturer of acoustic, interior trim, and thermal management products for the Japanese transplant automotive industry in North America, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Summary

The Infrastructure Engineer oversees and coordinates the daily activities of enterprise network / data / voice operations, business continuance and restoration plans.  Also responsible for the enterprise storage system, Windows Server environment including architecture and design, day-to-day operations & back-up, server virtualization, Active Directory administration, and the organization’s MS SQL, MS SharePoint and IIS environments. 

Duties include research, design, implementation, administration, tuning and tier-3 support of internal and/or external infrastructure systems.  Assists Sr Manager Infrastructure with every aspect including strategic planning, consulting with senior management, budgeting, policies / controls, vendor management and project implementation.

This role has the empowerment to adapt network and server usage policies to support the business as it changes and grows. As such, the Infrastructure Services Engineer is responsible to evaluate system designs, provide, and implement recommendations to improve performance, productivity, and functionality maintaining 3-5 year plans. 

The engineer’s primary task is the management and hands-on support of the company’s enterprise infrastructure. This is an extremely challenging role that demands strong technical leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsbilities

  • Design, install, configure, and proactively maintain company infrastructure assets
  • Plans and supports network architecture and server infrastructure, including but not limited to LANs, WANs, MPLS, and wireless networks, routers, switches, servers, and other hardware.
  • Strong wide area networking concept skills and designs including MPLS, DS3, bonded T1, WAN.  Acceleration concepts and practical application, rate limiting, traffic shaping, and QoS. Expert knowledge of complex routing, switching protocols and configuration (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and VLANs). Expert knowledge of VPN concepts, security, and implementation (Firewall, IPsec, SSL, NAT)
  • Knowledge of wireless networking installation and support 802.11a/ b/g/n, and Cisco’s AeroNet
  • Ability to develop standards and/or best practices for LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewall configuration, implementation, hardware selection, and topology design
  • Ability to effectively monitor, analyzes, and initiates corrective actions that insure network device reliability and data integrity.
  • Knowledge of when and how new emerging technologies would solve a technical problem or enhance
  • operational support services and the delivery of quality customer support services
  • Support administration of servers and virtualization
  • Active Directory 2008 and above experience in a multi-site 500 user environment. Proficiency with Active Directory toolset, ADMT, Group Policy management, replication, security, schema, DNS, DHCP domain administration is required.
  • Office365 experience. Proficiency required with Exchange account management, archiving and SharePoint
  • Ability to maintain 30+ physical and virtual server Microsoft and VMware servers
  • VMware VSphere creating and maintaining servers in a virtual environment
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, IIs/Apache web servers
  • Manage all system back-up, restore, and replication protocols Commvault experience
  • Working knowledge of SANs storage solutions Xiotech ISE
  • Performs troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations, and associated systems
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning
  • Oversee software and network security
  • Manage telephony equipment, and other network appliances
  • Experienced in leveraging third party providers and managed services
  • Effective asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
  • Collaborate with system administrators, I.S. management, and department leaders to assess near- and long-term infrastructure capacity needs
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science. Information technology and/or 5 – 10+ years equivalent industry experience
  • Systems: Windows, Cisco Systems, Linux, VMware, Hyper V, Cloud Computing
  • Networking: Switches, Routers, Servers, Firewall, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS. Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Certifications highly recommended MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to handle quickly changing directions/priorities
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills; target various organization levels
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and professional office experience needed
  • Other Qualifications
  • On-call availability 365 day a year
