Summary
 
The Process Engineer develops or assists in the development of the lowest cost, highest quality process for every product at UGN.  They are the representative of Corporate Engineering at each plant for any technical support, during development, launch and production phases.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate process problems, formulate and implement solutions to improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the company.
  • Initiate process improvements and process improvement programs.
  • Develop and perform capability studies for processes and equipment.
  • Partnering with the plant, develop efficient plant / process layouts.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for all processes.
  • Determine optimum process conditions for new and existing processes.
  • Visit suppliers and customers as required for analysis and solution implementation.
  • Support the whole Product and Corporate Engineering teams as a local representative at the plant
  • Provide technical lead on cost down opportunities for UGN and customers Value Added / Value Engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Five plus years of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Summary

The Production Manager plans, directs, and manages all physical and organizational aspects of production to meet the production requirements of the Company and the needs of the customer as they relate to the department. Ensures the quality and quantity of production.

Responsbilties:

  • Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, to develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with efective operations, cost factors and budget.

Summary
The Senior Product Engineer incorporates input from acoustics, research and development, validation, and process into the design selection and make the technical decisions about how best to proceed with product development.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Create drawings and manage changes, including support for customer requests for quotations (RFQ).
  • Create product bill of materials and raw material prints per development and RFQ requirements.
  • Provide technical lead on prototype and pre-production builds of selected designs.
  • Provide technical lead on cost down opportunities for UGN.
  • Learn and incorporate best practices from other divisions in the corporation on similar products.
  • Evaluate the market condition for product line, input to product line changes and improvements for growth.

Summary

Team Leader-Somerset, KY

Summary

The Team Leader coordinates with other work cells and departments to meet production requirements of the company and needs of the customers, with accountability for results in terms of cost, methods, quality, quantity of production, operations and personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and assist in developing team members in all TPS principles.
  • Walk through the department with the previous team leader to address concerns with the set up of the cells, housekeeping, and any manufacturing concerns that may have occurred during the previous shift.
  • Review all schedule needs daily.
  • Audit the cells to determine if raw materials, equipment, or a change over is required to ensure efficient start-ups.
  • Conduct meetings with team members at the beginning of each shift to communicate problems and concerns.
  • Insure all paperwork required by the team members is available.
  • Address team member concerns.
  • Monitor manning needs and work with the Shift Coordinator to schedule coverage and training.
  • Ensure 5-S activities are being performed and address if needed.
  • Reassign team members when needed when downtime occurs.
  • Monitor scrap, waste, quality and production.
  • Hold bi-weekly team meetings to develop improvement plans. Follow up accordingly.
  • Assist in the training of all team members. Ensure training documents are complete and update all skill training matrix forms.
  • Develop standard work procedures with the cell team members and ensure adherence to the standards.
  • Rotate into the Pit Team as a Pit Team Member for at least 4 to 6 months to be able to lead and develop Kaizen teams. Team Member to learn process design and problem solving as outlined in the Pit Team Member job description.
  • Ensure Job and Standard Work instructions are correct and in place.
  • Conduct monthly audits with Shift Coordinator of cell job instructions, 5-S procedures, standard work instructions, and product alerts. Revise as needed.
  • Train team members and manage rotation of team members.
  • Ensure all daily paperwork is accurate, complete and ready to process.
  • Represent UGN at customer locations when quality concerns are presented.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises work of Production Operators in the Production Department. Participate in new team member interviews, orientation and training.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  •  Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.

Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst (FP&A Analyst)-Tinley Park

Summary

The FP&A analyst will assist the Senior FP&A Manager, CFO and other members of the finance team in ongoing cost analysis, business planning, budgeting, forecasting and overall strategic analysis.  Much of this person’s responsibility will be critical to ongoing cost reduction actions, organic and external growth analysis and overall profitability analysis. Lastly, this position will have numerous ad hoc analysis responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Assist in internal and external audits
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts in conjunction with the close process
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal company controls
  • Provide detailed and thoughtful monthly analysis of spending and profitability. Tracks internal trends and suggest process improvements and highlights areas of opportunity
  • Develop company profitability analysis by major customer and program. Based both on standard cost and estimated actual cost. This reporting tool would be used to focus company efforts on products will less than desirable profitability
  • Partner with IT to full develop and utilize our BI Tool and E-Dash Tools
  • Questions current methods, while evaluating broad implications, to develop practical improvements: focuses on achieving goals rather than a fear of failure
  • Approaches issues from multiple perspectives and collaborates with others in generating creative, effective and practical solutions
  • Prepare Ad Hoc balancing sheet and profit analysis
  • Collaboration with other Tinley team members as well as Manufacturing team member on improving UGN profitability
  • Analyze current standard cost and new program cost and profitability
  • Participate in the continued development of value-added financial reporting tools; monthly and bi-monthly forecast, monthly flex budget, monthly volume / mix and price analysis, year over year analysis, price analysis etc
  • Partner with IT to develop and utilize our Business Intelligence Tools and Analytics
  • Prepare and present thoughtful analysis to help drive the business to the next level
  • This position will also support the budgeting and forecasting process

Qualifications:

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be a person with high integrity that is not afraid to question the status quo
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing finance; product costing, Bill of Material and Router development
  • Have proven success in senior finance positions within the Automotive and / or Manufacturing arena
  • In-depth knowledge of fundamental business finance / accounting functions and procedures
  • Must be a proven leader and team motivator
  • Must excel in a team atmosphere
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
  • In-depth knowledge of financial controls
